International Climate Initiative (IKI)
The IKI supports climate and biodiversity projects in over 150 countries. With a funding volume of more than 7 billion euros and over 1,000 projects launched, the IKI needed a way to clearly communicate how it works – and why its annual ideas competition is a great opportunity for global changemakers.
The challenge
Most people don’t understand how large-scale climate finance works. IKI needed an explainer video that:
- explains their mission and impact
- encourages to take part in the annual ideas competition
- works equally well online, on social media and at high-profile events such as the UN Climate Change Conference (COP)
And all in a way that remains relevant year after year.
Our solution
We have created a 3-minute explanatory video that:
- introduces the IKI and its goals
- highlights the urgency of the climate crisis
- illustrates how the IKI supports specific regions and priority areas
- recognizes the progress made since 2008
To ensure the video stays current, we designed it with modular elements – figures and data can be updated annually with minimal effort and cost. The script and visuals were created with future edits in mind.
